Absolutely! The 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 versions are available on the download page. If you install and use these programs without a license number or registration code, they run in demonstration mode. The demo version never expires, but the functionality is limited. The program will only work on the alignments defined in the drawing "trial.dwg", which is included in the installation of the program. You can modify these alignments & profiles, but the program will not work if you erase or rename them.
This slide show illustrates how the Intersection Builder performs its calculations.
Absolutely! The program gives you the option to select which curb returns you want to draw. To design a T-intersection, simply un-check the curb returns that you don't want.
Any angle of intersection is supported, as long as there is a legitimate solution.
Yes. As long as you know the perpendicular distance from the centerline to the PC/PT of the curb return as well as the pavement cross slope (or PC/PT elevation) you can use the intersection builder to calculate a curb return alignment and profile.
At this time, unpredictable results occur when the program is used to compute curb return profiles for intersections which occur on a vertical curve. In addition, the program makes absolutely no allowances, calculations or adjustments to ensure proper drainage. It is the responsibility of the engineer to make such determinations when these curb curb returns are used to build a corridor or surface.
Intersection Builder works in Civil 3D 2006, 2007, 2008 or 2009. Intersection Builder 2006 must be installed when using Civil 3D 2006, Intersection Builder 2007 must be installed to run it under Civil 3D 2007, Intersection Builder 2008 must be installed to run it under Civil 3D 2008, and Intersection Builder 2009 must be installed to run it under Civil 3D 2009. The same authorization code can be used for all versions, as long as they are running on the same computer. AutoCAD and other vertical applications such as Land Desktop are not supported at this time.
Authorized users of the software are entitled to free email support for the installation and use of the program. Contact support@langan.com for assistance. Be sure to include your name, license number and contact information.
