Discontinued!!
In case you haven't heard, there are some great new features in Civil 3D 2010 which make IntersectionBuilder unnecessary. As such, there will be no 2010 version of Intersection Builder. Sales of the 2007-2009 versions have been suspended, but existing customers can still get support, including activation codes, until January 2010. It was never our intention to compete with Autodesk - merely to fill a feature gap. It has been a great run, and we thank all of our loyal customers for their support. If you liked IntersectionBuilder, watch for other Civil 3D productivity tools from Langan in the future.
What is Intersection Builder?
Intersection Builder is a user-friendly add-on for Civil 3D that makes it easier to perform grading at roadway intersections. In Civil 3D, corridor models can be developed quite easily to model even a complex roadway cross section. The process becomes more difficult at intersections, however. Grading an intersection using a corridor model usually requires a separate alignment and profile for each curb return. The process of generating these alignments and profiles can be quite tedious and error prone, even for a simple intersection. The Intersection Builder is a powerful tool that makes short work of this task by generating curb return alignments and profiles according to the parameters that you specify.
How does it work?
The program consists of a single dialog that is used to select the two intersecting alignments and profiles. You just specify the radius for each curb return and the cross slope of each lane. The program uses these parameters to calculate the location and profile of the curb return, saving you hours of tedious work on a subdivision project. Once these objects are created, the profile can be plotted and easily adjusted to control the flow of water using the standard tools in Civil 3D. Click here to see a screen shot of the program.
